PHYSICAL NEEDS

Have a physical need? You may have a need occur without a way to meet it on your own. You may be injured or ill and need help getting things done at home that can't wait until you have recovered. You may need someone to drive you to a doctor's appointment. You may have a new baby and could use some meals brought in. Whatever your need, we want to help you meet it by making them known to the neighborhood anonymously on the neighborhood Facebook page and facilitate connecting you with offered help. Certainly for some things you will feel comfortable making your request known directly, however, there are times a person will ask for needed help only by remaining anonymous.

For needs related to food, utilities, or financial help, check out these Berkeley County RESOURCESNeighborhood Chaplains does not supply direct help for these physical needs.

  • you agree to a basic set of Christian beliefs
  • you agree to abide by the ethical standards of the Association of Professional Chaplains
  • you have an endorsement letter from your church leadership OR references attesting to Christian character
  • you submit to a criminal background check and have no felony convictions
  • you have some basic training in spiritual care (this requirement can be met through training offered by Neighborhood Chaplains)
  • you have been approved by the Chaplain you will assist

Acceptance as a Chaplain requires the additional criteria of being ordained, and having an endorsement from a Chaplaincy organization.
